Juliana Fadeyev
Juliana has had a long and varied career in the performing arts. She began performing at the age of 4 as an angel – the wings inspired her to let her imagination take flight.
Juliana trained in classical ballet in the Royal Acadamy of Dance technique with Anita Law where she completed her exams through Level 6. She expanded her ballet education with Vaganova syllabus under Professor of Russian Ballet Svetlana Fadeyeva and her son Yaroslav Fadeyev. She was also fortunate to have studied with the great Stella Adler at the Stella Adler Conservatory, and with Strasberg at the Strasberg Institute.
Her work in regional theater includes many iconic roles: Nina/The Seagull, Maggie/After the Fall, Medea/Medea, Tatiana/Mid-Summer Night Dream, Juliet/ Romeo and Juliet, Maggie/Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She developed new characters in original works at both Theater for the New City and La Mama. Juliana founded the acting company Exploring Chekhov, modeling the company on the Stanislavsky Theater of Moscow. She was honored to portray Nina/Seagull, Yelena/Uncle Vanya, Widow/The Bear, and Masha/Three Sisters.
Her musical theater credits include: Joan/Dames at Sea, Aldonza/Man of LaMancha, Nancy/Olivier, Sheila/A Chorus Line.
Favorites ballet roles include: Gulnare/Le Corsaire, Precious Stones (Sapphire)/Sleeping Beauty, Soloist Shade/La Bayadere.
Film and television credits include: Mary Whitman Comes Home (Mary), Secret Lives of Stepford Wives (Yvonne), Unraveled (Linda Dolloff).
Juliana loves sharing her knowledge and joy of performing with her students. She believes the arts can transform lives. In addition to performing, Juliana directs, choreographs and coaches. She is the Theater Director for Roslyn Theater Company. She has written two screenplays and one book (“Stretch Like A Cat”).
She agrees with Oscar Wilde, “Be yourself: everyone else is already taken.”
